Yesterday Mae got her stitches out, it didn’t go over very well as her skin had grown over one of the stitches so they had to tug at it a lot and I think that her finger is still pretty tender so she screamed at the top of her lungs. Finally they got them all out and gave her about 8 stickers and a cool band-aid!! When we left the ER I noticed that there was a little gift shop so I asked her if she wanted to go into it and she said yes. As we were walking around I kept telling her, “Don’t touch” “Don’t touch” “Don’t touch” when finally she asked me “mom how come you keep telling me don’t touch and you keep touching everything?” I told her, “Good question, mommy won’t touch anything else.”
As we were leaving I asked her if it hurt or if she was scared and she said, “It weally hurt and I was scared too!” I told her that since she was such a big girl that I would take her to McDonalds and get her some ice cream so when we got to McD’s I asked her if she wanted a cone or dish she told me that she wanted a cheeseburger and fries, so that’s what she got!!
The other night I kept asking her to do something and she wouldn’t so then I said, “Dad I’m done!!” So DW told her again what she needed to do and pretty soon she comes stomping out her room with her hand on her hip saying “Dad, I am sooo mad at you, you are not invited to my birthday party!!” This has been her favorite saying for about the last 3 months. Finally her birthday party will be her on the 18th we will have to see if she gets a new saying.
