Busy, busy weekend.....

Today is G’s 7th Birthday so we had quite a bit of celebrating to do this last weekend!!!  Saturday he invited three of his friends to go out to eat and then go to the W and play.  They had a blast!! We only had one near miss as one of the kids got a little close to the vortex pool and needless to say he was the one that was the most scared of the water and he was hanging on for dear life!!!  D and the lifeguard both arrived at the same time and the lifeguard plucked him out of the water…so as the kids tell the story we only had one person drown!!!

Saturday evening R had her junior prom, she was so excited and she looked beautiful!!!  She had a very nice young man escort her to the prom and she seemed very happy.  It is hard to believe that she is growing up so quickly and she is already attending her junior prom.  I am proud of the person that she has turned into.  We had some rough waters but we got through them and she is really turning into a beautiful woman.

We got home later on Saturday night so it was easy for everyone to get to sleep since it was late but Mae had had a very long nap on Saturday so she decided that she did not need to sleep much on Saturday night so she was up by 1 a.m.  D got up with her and took her to the bathroom and turned on the TV so she would sit there and possibly go back to sleep.   She was wide awake so there was no putting her back to bed.  Anyways about 2 a.m. she came in and woke me up and told me that she could not get the crayon out of her nose.  I sat straight up, I could not believe what I was hearing!!  I felt her nose and it was hard as a rock so I turned on my reading lamp and sure enough there it was and there was no way that I was going to be able to get it out with my finger so I had to massage down on her nose and work it out that way, and thankfully it worked!!  Needless to say I would not let her sit up by herself the rest of the time so I got up with her and finally I was able to talk her into coming to my bed and she finally fell back asleep around 4.  On Sunday I only let her take a 45 minute nap and guess what she slept all night (well except for when she fell out of bed….but hey who would sleep though something like that??  The important part though was that she fell right back asleep).

Sunday afternoon we had a family birthday party, G got a new basketball, fishing stuff, money and a BB gun.  It was my idea for someone to get him a BB gun and I cannot believe that I even brought it up because I am sure that it will make me a little uneasy.  He had to go out last night and practice on some pop cans….he’s definitely a lefty though so D had to explain to him that as he gets his next gun or rifle that he will have to make sure that it is a left handed gun.

Today is G’s actual birthday….it’s hard to believe that seven years ago today I was delivering my first child.  I have always said that you never know how much you can actually love someone until you have your first child and it is the truth.  He is growing into such a smart young man.  He loves anything that has to do with the outdoors, watching TV (SpongeBob and iCarly),  he loves talking (I wonder where he gets that from???)  he loves spending time with his grandparents, and he loves to ask questions….I guess that will only make him smarter but sometimes I wonder if he will ever stop with the questions…..LOL!!

I told him about 10 times before I left today Happy Birthday, and I called him on my way to work to tell him again.  I am getting off of work early today to go and spend the afternoon at school with him and then tonight he has a boy scout function that he is looking forward to.

I am so looking forward to summer, I am ready to get out the camper and get it ready to go.  We did not camp much at the end of the year last year because I got chiggers from Yogi Bear and I was pissed!!!  It kind of took that fun out of it for me, so hopefully this year we have a better year and get to get a lot of camping in.  I’m a little worried with D being back in real estate that it may cause some busyness on the weekends but hopefully we can at least get the camper pulled somewhere me and the kids can hang out.  It was a sacrifice that we made so he will enjoy what he is doing for a career and hopefully we will have a little more money!!
