Today Mae is 13 months and 1 day and she still is not walking. She seems okay with that though, she still manages to get around. It is so funny how she crawls though, she still does not do that the way that every other child in the universe does it. She seems to drag her right leg, she gets up on all 4's and she takes off but I think that she feels like she will only get moving if she moves that one leg so she drags the other one behind. It almost reminds me of riding a scooter, when you stand on it with one leg and push it with the other one. It doesn't seem to hold her back though, in fact she goes pretty quickly. We should get it on video for her to watch when she gets older, I am sure that we would all get a good laugh at that when we go to watch it later.
Mae if officially bottle free!!! It was pretty easy, I just decided about 2 weeks ago that that was it and she never had another one. She has a little problem falling asleep at night with no bottle but I think that has to do with cutting teeth also.
Lou is officially sippy cup free!!!! That has been very difficult for her but she is doing very well with it, she really likes the sippy cup when she is tired but we finially said no more, if Mae is a big girl then Lou can be also.....every now and then she asks if she can have a sip of Mae's and I usually let it, but all that I let her take is a sip and that seems to help her through it. It makes me a little sad though because it is kind of an addiction, and it is hard for adults to get over addictions, so I am sure that it is hard for kids to get over addictions also. I have been rocking her to sleep a little more though and it helps her get to sleep without thinking about the sippy cup. Last night was 6 days and she didn't even ask for one so it has went great....first few days lots of fits, but now that we got through that it didn't take much.
GW is getting better about going to daycare. It seems like the end of the week goes great it is just the beginning of the week that is difficult after spending the whole weekend with his family, then to start over, so once we get to hump day it gets better. The whole month of July though the kids will only be at daycare for 10 days so I am sure that they will get out of the routine of things and it will be a nightmare all over again....
R is working a Pizza Ranch, she usually works on Wednesdays and about every weekend Saturday and Sunday from 11-2, kind of messes up the weekends but she seems to like it and she will get some money that way. It is kind of hard since she is only 15 we have to take her to and from work but we are just happy that she is 15 and interested in getting a job.
Every week is getting a little better for DW in his new job, he is learning a lot more and is getting more independant every day, we love our weekends he is home every weekend and we love it!!!! Week days have still be a little crazy but that will get better over time also. Election for mayor is going to be up in November and he is not sure if he will run again, it really takes a lot of time and headaches so he has not really decided on that one yet.
I am still plugging away at work, September/October will be here before we know it and then I will find out if I have a job or not, but until then I will try not to worry about it and take it all one day at a time....
